Objectives

Objectives of studying abroad

The experience of the internship abroad allows the student to learn and master a foreign language. During his experience, the student discovers new teaching methods, different from his usual methods.

During his experience, he is also led to develop his autonomy as well as his independence, whether financial or parental. This experience is a unique adventure for the student.

Often, the student easily integrates into this new environment and creates a new circle of friends. and knowledge, allowing him at the same time to obtain new contacts and new relationships.

Studying abroad also allows the student to take up a new challenge: by carrying out this adventure, he can absorb a diversity of knowledge and methods unknown in France.

This experience then enriches the student's CV, since he will have developed and acquired other knowledge and skills his comrades did not. Therefore, it is a boost for his future job interviews since the selection criteria are more and more numerous and complex.

Objectives of the internship

The internship is an important element for the validation of the student's diploma. This allows the student to immerse themselves in the workplace, to take stock of the whole knowledge acquired during his training as well as defining his professional objective.

The subject of the internship must be identified by the company and validated by the department after consultation. During the course of the internship, the department ensures a follow-up requiring exchanges of informations between the company and the department. This following must be carried out, to the extent possible, by teachers visits to the place of the course.

After completion of his internship, the student is responsible for writing and presenting an internship report or a dissertation before a jury generally composed of the training supervisor, the referring teacher and also another teacher from the department. This defense and this report give rise to a qualitative and quantitative evaluation.

The internship is noted simultaneously by the company (internship supervisor) and the department (tutor and jury) on the following points:

  • Work in companies, with regard to the objectives set in the agreement;
  • The written report, framed in its form, highlighting the skills implemented during the internship;
  • Oral defense by a mixed company / organization, department jury.

For these three elements, the trainee's evaluation must relate to:

  • Its ability to use its academic achievements in carrying out its mission;
  • The achievements resulting from immersion in the professional environment: technical skills and interpersonal skills with reference to the DUT activities and skills reference framework.
